Gems of Malwa
Our trip starts in Mandu—situated at the heart of the country and set against the backdrop of the Vindhya Range, this ancient fortress town perches atop a sparsely forested plateau. It is believed Mandu was built in the 6th century, and has seen the rise and fall of many dynasties. As a result, it houses some of the finest examples of architecture in India and is home to the poignant love story of Rani Roopmati and Baz Bahadur.
A Road Trip Through Spiti Valley
Our maiden trip was a road trip to Spiti Valley, and we absolutely love going back. Spiti is tucked away in a far corner of Himachal Pradesh and is often called Little Tibet or Mini Ladakh.
Certainly, the similarities are aplenty; the rain-starved landscape with scattered patches of bright green poplar and young barley for relief, the mud gompas and fluttering prayer flags, the snow-crowned mountains and the fast-moving rivers, the breath-sapping altitudes, the lone metalled highway, and the vast blue skyway.
