Tibet/Nepal
(Kathmandu, Bandipur, Pokhara Lhasa, Xigatse, Gyantse, Xegar)
From stunning views of some of the world’s highest mountains, magnificent monasteries, an aura of peace, and warm people, Tibet has it all.
Despite its tragic past and painful present–Tibet has fascinated travellers from across the world and with good reason.
Our very special trip begins in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, where we will complete the necessary visa formalities to enter Tibet in a few days. These formalities, take a few working days, while we give in our passports for processing we will make the most of our time and visit Bandipur and Pokhara
Thereafter, prepare for our trip ‘The Roof of the World’.
The Tibetan plateau stands the highest in the world, at an average of 4,500 meters above sea level. We will spend some time in Lhasa acclimatizing to the high altitude of the region; and walking around and taking in Lhasa’s stunning vistas
During our three days here, we will see some of town’s iconic sights like the Potala Palace (former home of the 14th Dalai Lama before he fled to India), Drepung Monastery, Barkhor Baazar and more
Post the Lhasa sojourn, we head to Xigatse, where visit Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, one of the largest monasteries in Tibet. View the remarkable Thangka Wall here, built by the 1st Dalai Lama in 1468.
We then proceed to Gyantse, where you will visit the Gyantse Dzong, the 14th-century fortress.
We will also visit the Karola Glacier, Yamadroke Lake, and Kamba Pass.
We are happy to be announcing our first-ever visit to the base camp of the veritable holy grail of mountains—Mount Everest
We will drive up there from Xegar
Rongbuk; the world’s highest monastery at 4,980 m, affords dramatic and uninterrupted views of Everest.
This is a trip you certainly don’t want to miss out on so sign up soon!
