A mass of densely forested, impossibly steep hills, and snow-capped peaks, Arunachal Pradesh is home to 26 indigenous tribes, from the Monpas of Tawang to the Apatanis of Ziro. Join us as we explore India’s wildest and least explored state, as it is popularly considered. 

Much of the state remains beyond the reach of tourists, but certain areas are now slowly being opened to them. We will acquire government-issued Inner Line Permits, which will enable us to visit some of the rare gems of the not-much explored Indian state. 

We will start our trip at Bhalukpong the drive first to Dirang and visit the orchid centre. A visit to a Monpa village is also on the cards. In Tawang we will spend time at the Madhuri Lake and the magnificent Tawang Monastery, the largest monastery in India and the second largest in the world, after the Potala Palace in Lhasa. Also visit the Urgelling Monastery, the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama, and the Ani Gompa, a nunnery. 

We will end our road trip in Arunachal Pradesh by driving to the town of Bomdila, following which we will head back to Assam – first to Tezpur and then to Guwahati where we end our trip.

• The entire road journey is filled with breathtaking views, as you pass the many mountain streams, and terraced paddy fields and alpine forests. Its a spectacular road trip across Arunachal Pradesh that only few boasts of covering.
• You will visit the Tawang monastery. Also known as Galden Namgey Lhatse which literally means ‘celestial paradise in a clear sky’, the beautiful monastery truly lives up to its name.
• There will be valley’s & rivers meandering through them, hikes in forests, lunches on river banks, visits to sacred lakes formed centuries ago which have withstood time & braved climate change, trips to waterfalls.
• We will visit tribal villages & see their traditional ways of living.
• If all this wasn’t enough, there’s also a light & sound show, which is the cherry on an already very rich cake!!

NOTES

• We need minimum of 7 confirmations to do this tour.
• All hotels in Arunachal Pradesh are non-star category.
• It is a beautiful, but a very remote region, especially central Arunachal – please do bear this in mind.
• Credit or debit cards are not freely accepted.
• For Arunachal Pradesh, all Indian tourists require ILP (Inner Line Permits). ILP are issued from Guwahati. We will need your identity and address proofs, such as driving licence or passport, at least 10 days before departure.
• Please check train / flight timings with us before booking.

• Balance payment due by 25^th August, 2021.

CANCELLATION POLICY

• Complete refund if cancelled 90 days prior to the actual trip
• 90 days – 60 days – Booking amount non refundable, complete refund for the balance
• 60 days – 50 days – 75% refund of total amount
• 50 days – 30 days – 25% refund of total amount
• 30 days – 15 days – 10% refund of total amount
• 15 days – 0 – no refund

• Services of a trip lead from Women on Their Own Trip throughout the trip
• All transport ex Guwahati (innovas and 3 people to a car. An odd car may have a 4th person – our trip lead, who will keep switching cars)

• Any cost arising out of unforeseen circumstances like ill‐health, land blocks, bad weather, etc.
