Colors of the Wind: Autumn in South Korea
South Korea has been on our bucket list of must visit destinations for a while now, but we wanted to wait until we had figured out the perfect itinerary for you. And we know that we have done it.
So come explore this tantalizing, unexplored slice of East Asia with us.
Visit the cities in the Land of Morning Calm (that’s South Korea), and you will figure out that they are anything but calm!
Spend time in Seoul, with its towering and futuristic buildings, and eye searing neon signage – it is a city that is constantly on the move and you will love the energy here.
Step out into the serene countryside and you get to see a land steeped in tradition. It’s truly a paradox.
We start our trip in Seoul and after spending a few heady days here, we go deep into the country and visit the tranquil Gyeongju, which is the erstwhile capital of the Silla Dynasty.
Known as ‘the museum without walls’, Gyeongju holds more tombs, temples, rock carvings, pagodas, Buddhist statuary, and palace ruins than any other place in South Korea.
We then move to Busan for a quick stop – see the beaches, mountains, temples, and the famous modern Diamond Bridge – and then head over to the famous Jeju Island. Jeju Island is a natural World Heritage Site, known for its beach resorts and volcanic landscape full of craters and cave-like lava tubes.
From visiting vast palaces and sleeping on the floor in ancient houses to hanging out in fancy malls – South Korea is a heady mix of technology and tradition.
And what better month to go than in October! Cool crisp weather, colourful leaves. Expect a canvas of green, yellow, orange, and red leaves to greet you…. It will be magical. Come explore South Korea with us.
